This is another project carried out whilst working for Somethinkelse. The client approached us requesting a re-design of their website to make it appear more dynamic and modern. The solution we produced also incorporates a Live Chat feature where clients can talk to the company representative through a chat dialogue.

This project was a re-design of an existing Actinic Catalog Store. The client was extremely happy with the result and she now uses it to run her business from home. Since the re-design she commented on how much sales have increased.

Newcastle United Womens Football Club

This project was undertaken whilst working at somethinkelse. The brief was to design and build a more modern website for the Football Club, with the hope being that this would attract more sponsors and also more supporters from the local community. The website is built upon the Joomla CMS.

This piece of work was carried as part of the Client and User Centered Solutions Module I took whilst doing my degree. Our class was split into teams (of about 4 people) and we were provided with a client (Coatham Memorial Hall Association in this case). The brief was then to produce a solution for the client based on several discussions our team had with this client. The client would then choose the solution they liked best from all the teams and the solution would be used. It turned out that the solution my team produced was chosen, and it is being used curently.

My role in the team was to be the Project Manager and also a Web Developer. As part of the solution I built an online booking system that allows people to request the hire of rooms at the hall for future events. The moderator from the hall can then log into the admin section of the website and approve or deny this request. When a decision has been made, an automatically generated email is sent to the person requesting the booking informing them of the decision of the the moderator. If the request is approved the event is shown on the events calendar. In addition to this I integrated a WordPress blog into the solution.

Advanced Multimedia Applications

This is another university project. We were given a list of scenarios to choose from and I chose Health Bytes, a scheme designed to educate people about healthy eating. I built this application in Adobe Flash, and there is a Content Management System (made with PHP, MySQL and ActionScript) for the user management and recipe generator section.

Online Business Systems Advert

This project was carried out as part of a University module called Online Business Systems. The brief was to create a Flash advert to promote a website that we had built for a previous ICA. I decided to not only make the flash advert but also to make it expand into a mini-application. I received a top grade for this piece of work.
